Wapping is an area that appeals to a wide demographic of largely professional people often working in the City or in Canary Wharf, for not only is the area easy to access via frequent and reliable public transport, the London Overground also brings trendy Shoreditch and Hoxton within 15 minutes travelling time.
City proximity, beautiful Thames river views and classic warehouse conversions help make Wapping an irresistible place to live together with its , cobbled streets, quiet parks, local schools, cosy pubs and a strong sense of community.
Homes in Wapping
Classic warehouse conversions many of which are Grade II Listed sit alongside modern apartment blocks and townhouses. Contemporary architect designed developments, some with a gym and cinema juxtaposed with 1920’s and 1930’s mansion blocks.
Wapping locals are always on the go, and they are perfectly positioned to do so. Wapping shopping, eating and drinking is evenly spread throughout the area, with most of the shops in Wapping Lane and a Waitrose supermarket just behind St Katharine Docks where there is also a wide range of pubs, restaurants and cafes located here and all the way into central Wapping. Many of the cafes are independently owned and the Italian restaurant Il Bordello is an old favorite for many locals.
There are many parks in the area where people meet and chat and enjoy picnics in the warmth of the summer sun. Our favorite is Wapping Rose Garden which is close to the Turks Head cafe.
